Outline
The seminar aims at raising awareness among fraud examiners on the importance of quality assessment and validation of forensic investigation to demonstrate competence in the professional practice of fraud examination. Barring the confidentiality of fraud examinations, having a good quality assessment and validation program would help identify opportunities to enhance the forensic investigation processes, improve its effectiveness, promote ideas to enhance its credibility as well as offer operational or strategic comments. It should be considered as a critical element in continuous improvement and adds value to the organization where the fraud examiners work.
In this seminar, insightful information about the best practices in performing quality assurance for forensic investigation will be shared. Specifically, participants will learn about designing and developing a quality assurance program, performing the right quality review with the right skills, identifying the key elements of a quality review, assessing the quality and identifying improvement opportunities, etc.

Sheechean has over 20 years of both professional and in-house work experience in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Apart from heading the investigation functions in three MNCs for over 10 years, he led an internal audit team for an insurance company’s subsidiaries in China and Taiwan. He has tremendous knowledge in leading complex investigation, asset tracing, compliance review and assessment, counter-fraud strategy, corporate recovery and restructuring, and dispute resolutions projects in various locations in the Asia-Pacific region. Sheechean is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Partner in the Forensic & Integrity Services practice of Ernst & Young Advisory Services Limited.
Josephine Yam, Senior Manager, Forensic & Integrity Services, Ernst & Young Advisory Services Limited
Josephine has 10 years’ experience in fraud investigation, fraud risks assessment, internal controls, United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) assessment, forensic accounting, corporate internal investigation and financial statement audit. She is also experienced in remediation and litigation support related to economic disputes. She has served clients in a wide range of industries including consumer products, automotive, aviation, diversified industrial products, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and higher education. Josephine is a Certified Fraud Examiner and she is currently a Senior Manager in the Forensic & Integrity Services practice of Ernst & Young Advisory Services Limited.
