Joint ForensIG-CFIG webinar:
Identifying and Managing Latest Regional and HK Business Risks
The business landscape has become increasingly complex and uncertain as Hong Kong is caught in the middle of the great U.S.-China power struggle. Over the past few months, the regulatory environment within the Mainland itself has also been giving rise to uncertainties for companies and investors, particularly in specific sectors like what has just happened in the Macau gaming industry. When added to the widely-reported woes of the over-leveraged Mainland property sector, where bond defaults have started to occur, we could ask whether the business climate in the region is in danger of mirroring the concerns surrounding the atmospheric climate. Against this background, the speaker, business risk expert, Mr. Steve Vickers, will discuss the following topics in the next ForensIG event.
- Political risks: What can companies do to minimise the risks and uncertainties that they face?
- The Evergrande situation: Whether the company’s growing financial straits could have a wider impact on China’s economy, including on Hong Kong, and even internationally?
- Variable Interest Entity (VIE): Is this still a reliable arrangement for foreign investment in certain Mainland sectors?
